2014 Annual Awards
The New York State Weatherization Directors Association (NYSWDA) is accepting nominations for our unsung heroes in the Weatherization Assistance Program and will be recognizing them at our Annual Awards Ceremony during the NYSCAA/NYSWDA Professional Development Conference being held in Alexandria Bay, June 10-12
NYSWDA, through its award program, recognizes individuals at all levels of service that unselfishly dedicate their energy and expertise to the Weatherization Assistance Program and its’ mission. These individuals may directly impact public policy, deliver a progressive local program held to the utmost standard, or demonstrate innovative office/field skills. The recipients of these awards impact and improve the lives of low-income energy consumers across New York State. The awards are our way of showing our appreciation for their hard work.
A nomination form including eligibility criteria is below for your use. Please complete and return no later than April 25, 2014. Nominators will be notified if their nominee has been chosen.
NYSWDA is the leading provider of building sciences training in New York State. Our facilities, in Syracuse, Buffalo, and Troy, NY, are designed to integrate classroom training and laboratory exercises providing field technicians an exceptional learning experience. Our trainers are subject matter experts with years of field and classroom experience.
NYSWDA is a Building Performance Institute (BPI) affiliate and an approved BPI Testing Center. We offer training and written/field tests onsite. NYSWDA has been working with BPI for over 20 years and all of our courses are eligible for continuing education units (CEU’s).
NYSWDA also assists both WAP agencies and home performance contractors in obtaining bulk purchase pricing benefits. This means better than contractor rate pricing on the one hundred+ products that we procure.
And finally, NYSWDA works closely with policy regulators and implementing agencies, advocating common sense energy policy and approaches to the home performance industry around the state
Look what our industry has to say about our training and expertise!!!
“We find our experience to be refreshing……to work with trainers that not only have the theoretical knowledge but also possess the practical experience from working in the field themselves. They communicate…. like technicians, which is conducive to the learning process…” -Kevin G. Hull, Operations Manager, Blueox Corporation
“I cannot say enough in praise of the staff, the trainings offered, and the presentation of the trainings. Thank you NYSWDA!” –Ray Smith, Field Coordinator, Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency
“I was looking for some specialized training for some of our technicians. (They)…came back to me within a day with a well-organized agenda that addressed all of my specific needs.” -Kevin G. Hull, Operations Manager, Blueox Corporation
"I really appreciated the time you folks took to set up your course and thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on lab work. I gained a lot of useful information in which I will definitely take to the field with me. You folks really know whats going on..., and I thank you for that." -Brandon Lafirira, Central Vermont Community Action Council
" I just went to the auditor training. I just wanted to say thanks to you and the guys for a great training. Always an informative, fun and hands on experience with you guys. You guys are awesome.
