 House-By-House, Duct-By-Duct: House / Duct Configurations, Problems, & Solutions=0D=0A=

Specific house / duct configurations tend to dominate the landscape in various climate zones. Problems found and potential energy savings and comfort gains vary across these configurations as well. The Cape Cod on-basement in Pennsylvania differs greatly from the Floridian one-story on-slab with ducts in the attic. For each of five common configurations, we will examine: the interaction between the house and the duct system, common faults and mistakes, specific tests used to quantify problems, techniques for correcting the problems, and the process of testing the results of your work.=0D=0A=

    1. Examine the five most common house / duct configurations and explore the ways in which the house and ducts interact=0D=0A=
    2. Learn common faults and performance problems found in each of the configurations, along with techniques to test for and recognize the presence and severity of problems=0D=0A=
    3. Discover labor-effective modifications for correcting problems and testing your work in each of the configurations examined
