Senior WAP Manager / Assistant Weatherization Director

Margert  Community  Corporation,  a  community-based,  non-profit  housing  agency  and  weatherization  subgrantee  for  Queens  County,  is  seeking  a  full  time  Senior WAP  Manager.  

  This  position  works  closely  with  the  Weatherization  Director  and  the  successful  candidate  must  be  experienced,  self-directed,  highly  motivated  and reliable.    
QUALIFICATIONS:  A  solid  background  in  building  science,  residential  energy  efficiency  and  the  Weatherization  Assistance  Program  a  must.    Experience  in  successful  management  of  WAP  coordinated  programs  and  other  state  funded  LPA  housing  programs  preferred.    Successful  candidate  must  demonstrate  the  ability  to  become  BPI  certified  within  90  days  of  hire.  
DUTIES  and  RESPONSIBILITIES  include  multifamily  production,  small  homes  production,  inventory  tracking,  WAP  database  maintenance,  supervision  of  energy  auditors  and  field  staff,  subcontractor  management,  owner  negotiations  and  financial  packaging.

Job Opportunities:

 Crew Members - FT; Responsible for on-site delivery of the agency’s energy service programs. Work as part of a crew delivering conservation and education; while utilizing the “whole building performance approach”.; min. req.: HS Diploma or GED plus: 1 year experience in weatherization, home performance systems, or home improvement building trades OR Successful completion of weatherization training program, including 6 months in-field experience AND valid driver’s license that meets agency insurability criteria and access to reliable transportation. 

Energy Services Auditor - FT; The Energy Services Energy Auditor conducts building energy evaluations for developing energy efficiency work scope components. Initiates and tracks utility account energy usage data and coordinates with staff to complete application processing. Energy Auditor provides energy services information to home/building owners; including no cost/low cost education, tool kits, financing opportunities and project outcome data.; min. req.: High School Diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years construction and/or energy conservation experience. Experience in home energy auditing preferred. AND Valid driver’s license that meets the agency’s insurability requirements and access to reliable personal transportation.
