We have signed a new contract with DHCR, but like all of
you, we are waiting for our advance. This has held us up on many of
the deliverables in the contract but staff are forging ahead.
Here are
some of the deliverables for the network that are included in our new
contract are:
-
Updating the Lead NID for agencies, providing lead logs
for agencies use, providing one day lead training for new staff, and
keeping the network current on lead issues. (see sidebar)
-
Updating
the Asbestos Waiver
-
Trainings -
NYSWDA will be coordinating regional as well as statewide trainings.
Our Training Committee will be polling the network to find out what
trainings you are interested in. We have identified 6 regional
centers that will allow you to send staff for trainings without the need
for overnights. We will soon have a training schedule posted on the
website.

Updating fuel savings study. NYSWDA will be working
with the network to provide NY with current data on how much our WAP
program is currently saving on both fuel and electric usage.

Providing a complete Field Manual posted on this website
to act as study guide for new staff.
-
Provide a Management Manual for new
Directors
-
Procurement of WAP materials and Insurance
-
Provide Peer to Peer support for agencies
in trouble because of staff turnover
