NYSWDA Committees

Committees will be established to act in service to the corporation with regard to specific issues. Each committee shall consist of no more than 5 members including the Committee Chair.

Committee chairs will be selected by the Board of Directors and approved by the general membership.  Terms will be for one year or until the objectives of the committee are met.  Committee members will be subject to approval by the Board of Directors.  Associate members may serve as committee members.  In the absence of a standing Committee Chairperson, the President will select an officer to act as Chairperson.

The following standing Committees are established:

1) Executive Committee - consists of all elected officers and will meet at direction of the President.

2) Bylaws Committee - ensure Bylaws are in accordance with and appropriate to the corporation's structure and purpose and that corporation activities are in compliance.  Examine, and modify if necessary the Bylaws of the Corporation on an annual basis.  Bylaws and amendments must be submitted to and approved by general membership.

3) Funding Committee– secure funding to support initiatives of the Corporation.

4) Training Committee - establish and

develop management, technical and health & safety training to the membership.

5) Policy & Procedure Committee - work in conjunction with State Weatherization Assistance Program personnel to develop and test proposed policies and procedures for the State Weatherization Program.

6) Legislative Committee - monitor and develop strategies on legislative issues pertaining to Weatherization/energy conservation.

7) Marketing/Membership Committee- to promote NYSWDA and its activities including information and education with regard to corporation activities. To establish targets and strategies, to increase associate, affiliate and corporate memberships.  Recommend fees for different types of memberships to Board of Directors.
