Weatherization/Empower Auditor

Hours:  F/T Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm
Salary:  Determined by qualifications and budget (Unless subject to Davis Bacon)

The Weatherization/EmPower Auditor will conduct BPI standard audits on site.  Enter all required information into software provided, as well as develop a scope of work for each unit.  The Auditor will also manage, document, and verify; all tasks performed, and materials used in each of their units.  

Successful candidate will:

  • Performing BPI standard health and safety testing in all units
    • Carbon monoxide testing
    • Humidity
    • CAZ
    • Draft
  • Gather all necessary and pertinent information at the time of the audit
    • Complete and elaborate on the client questionnaire
      • Ask the client for any useful information
      • Educate client on energy conservation
    • Probe and asses the insulation factors of the home
      • Attics
      • Walls
      • Basements
      • Crawl spaces
    • Measure all the dimensions of the unit
      • Windows
      • Doors
      • Walls
      • Floor space
  • Enter information gathered into the given energy software
    •  TIPS
    • M-Calc
  • Identify needed improvements and describe them in a “work scope” for the crew
    • Write a detailed scope of work that the crew can fallow
    • List all materials needed for the unit so the crews know what they will need to complete the work
  • Order any materials that are not in stock (such as windows and doors)
  • Schedule sub-contractors when necessary
  • Manage crew and sub-contractor activity in the unit
  • Assist in tracking inventory
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards
  • Work well with others
  • Motivate their crews
  • Other tasks as needed/necessary for the advancement of programs and RDAC’s mission

Qualifications/Skills/Attributes
 
Minimum requirements:
Real and provable construction experience, consistently document materials accurately, work professionally in and office sitting, honesty and integrity; or a combination of experience and education that meets minimum requirement.

  • Significant construction experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Sense of humor
  • Valid driver’s license/reliable transportation
  • Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel -- Access and PowerPoint desirable
