12/31/02 Syracuse Post Standard, article on lead. Article
stated that the CDC is proposing dropping lead levels in children from
10 to 5 ug/dl. Studies at Cornell have shown a drop of 5 to 7 IQ
points in children with levels of 1-10. In Onondaga county, the
article points out, this would mean that 26% of all children tested
this year would have lead levels that could damage them for life, and
6.5% of those tested had levels above the current standard of 10 ug/dl.

Lead Tips |
Calendar |
Lead dust can be transferred from clothing to you vehicles. OSHA
has the right, if they show up on a job, to swipe your vehicles.
It is a good practice to have crews clean vehicles during down time,
using HEPA vacs and lcd wipes.
