Regulatory
Background Overview
In the early1990's a number of Federal agencies formed a lead
task force to coordinate efforts regarding "lead". Out of this
collaboration came the Housing & Community Development Act of
1992 which includes Title X (The Residential Lead-Based Paint
Hazard Reduction Act of 1992).
The major players that we need to be concerned with are
HUD, EPA, and OSHA and here is a very brief outline of their
different roles in Title X.
- HUD role is to protect the clients living in homes with lead
paint
- EPA's role is to provide standards for certifications, levels
for lead clearances etc.
- OSHA's role is to protect your employees
On the next page
(page three) we will go into detail of what your weatherization
program needs to be following to be in compliance with this issue.
I have broken the information into three categories, what is needed in
regards to:
1. Clients
2. Your Employees
3. What you need on
the worksite...
