MOHAWK, N.Y. – U.S. Representative Richard Hanna on Monday, October 31, 2011 will tour a home that’s undergoing weatherization improvements and discuss the importance of federal funding for such programs.

Congressman Hanna this year was one of just 23 Republicans in the House to support weatherization funding in appropriations bills. He will visit the site of a current project of the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency Weatherization Assistance Program. MVCAA Executive Director Amy Turner will also share remarks about the program.

Hanna, the homeowner Ms. Daisy Hoover, MVCAA officials and others will be available to discuss the importance of the program and its efforts to promote energy conservation.

Sunday, October 30 is National Weatherization Day.

Harlem CDC will host Weatherization Day on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 10:00am to 3:00pm in the lobby of the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building, located at 163 West 125th Street.

We will provide information about Weatherization as well as exhibit some of the work completed under ARRA and WAP this past year.  Con Edison has donated some light bulbs which we will provide as giveaways to the community and the Weatherization Staff has compiled a couple of games to test the knowledge of the general public about Weatherization.  It should be a fun and informative day and we invite you all to attend.
