Training Location: Hudson Valley Community College's Training Center - 69 Morrison Avenue, Troy, NY 12180

This training is for:

Energy Auditors and Building Analysts, Home Performance contractors, builders, remodelers, and home improvement contractors, HVAC technicians, Code officials and home inspectors.

Course Description:

NYSWDA's ASHRAE 62.2 training provides a foundational understanding of the new ventilation standards. The course curriculum is suitable for those in the weatherization and building performance industry and for those seeking a better understanding of ventilation requirements and techniques to achieve compliance such as code enforcement officials, architects, engineers, and HVAC contractors.

The course begins with explanations of how to calculate ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation needs and how to identify types of ventilation systems and fan controls. "Hands on" instruction on measuring fan flow using a Minneapolis DG-700 digital manometer along with the Flow Blaster & Exhaust Fan Flow Meter will also be provided in NYSWDA's state-of-the-art Pressure House. Students will take a written test to demonstrate their understanding of calculating ventilation needs, control setups, and measuring performance of ventilation systems. Upon successful completion of a written test, each student will receive a certificate of completion.

BPI is adopting ASHRAE 62.2 as the new standard. This means those recertifying next year or later must learn ASHRAE 62.2 for their recertification exams.
