Whenever we 
 work on houses that were built before 1978 there is a good chance that ther
 e could be lead based paint on the inside and outside. Disturbing this pain
 t could harm us and the families we work with. This NYSWDA Lead Safe Weathe
 rization Training satisfies the HCR requirement that all Weatherization sta
 ff working in houses built before 1978 receive training on safe work practi
 ces to reduce exposure to lead dust. NYSWDA uses the DOE curriculum which a
 lso satisfies the DOE and OSHA requirements for employees working around le
 ad paint. This training is also required for your sub-contractors' employee
 s who work on weatherization units.\n
