Course Description;
This 3 day Small Home Auditor training incorporates both classroom presentations with hands-on lab sessions enabling new auditors, crew chiefs, and directors to apply their building science skills to real life situations. Topics include client interaction, Building Science, Health & Safety, Heating & Venting, and computer building modeling. NYSWDA's hands-on lab sessions include CO and gas leak detection, worse case CAZ testing, steady state efficiency testing, and blower door/pressure diagnostics operations.

 

Agenda;

• Air Sealing - A presentation on the proper use of a blower door and techniques used to air seal a building
• Heating Systems - A presentation covering testing, basic diagnostics and distribution systems.
• Conduction - A session on how a building loses heat energy by conduction.
• Building Modeling - A presentation on how to model a building for energy efficiency and develop a work scope.
• Baseload Measures - A presentation on refrigerator replacement, lighting, and domestic hot water.
• Health & Safety - A presentation on the required health & safety tests and how to analyze the results.

Must have completed EITHER Boot Camp OR Air Sealing and Weatherization Health & Safety training prior to taking this course.
