Infrared Applications for Building Science
Training Location: NYSWDA Training Center - 5869 Fisher Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057
This training is for;
Weatherization Auditors, Post Inspectors, Field Staff, and Building Home Performance Contractors
Course Description;
This two-day training consists of classroom-based instruction and hands-on field exercises. Upon completion, participants will demonstrate a working knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms and building science fundamentals as they relate to residential thermal diagnostics and energy efficiency.
The course provides detailed instruction on the operation, calibration, and optimal use of thermal imaging equipment, including interpretation of infrared data and identification of building envelope deficiencies. Participants will apply these skills in blower door–assisted air sealing diagnostics, residential energy audit inspections, and post-retrofit verification to assess air leakage, insulation performance, and overall building envelope integrity.
Agenda;
