Course Description;
The BPI IDL certification is for HVAC contractors, builders, code officials, home inspectors, insulators, and energy auditors who want to perform in-house or third party verification testing of building and duct air tightness testing to meet requirements of the 2015 IECC energy conservation code.
As of October 2016 in NY State, the new energy code requirements call for all new residential structures, gut rehabs, and additions, to require third-party verification testing to assure IECC infiltration and duct leakage compliance. This course will prepare you to challenge the proctored field test and earn the BPI IDL certification.
This is a one-day course with field testing the following day(s) to complete the certification process. It is intended for students who want to challeng and earn the BPI Infiltration & Duct Leakage (IDL) Professional Certification
This certification is for individuals who will:
- Measure and verify the air barrier tightness
- Measure and verify residential duct leakage
- Interpret code compliance and prepare code compliance reports

Who Should Attend;
Weatherization Auditors, Crew Leaders and Assistant Crew Chiefs, Field Supervisors and building performance contractors, HVAC contractors, builders, code officials, home inspectors, insulators and energy auditors.
Dates;
Training is on the first day. There are no online written tests. Attendees will be assigned a date to return on one of the 2 following days to complete an hour and a half field test

Class Size: 6 - this is a strict limit allowing time to field test all candidates on days 2 & 3

Attendees are given a lunch break, but lunch is not included in the training fees.
