Dave received an HVAC associate degree from Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh Pa in the early 1980s. He worked in commercial refrigeration for several years and then in 1984 he relocated to Syracuse NY, where he held a position as an HVAC service technician and became very familiar with the heat pump of that time. He was a member of the local Heat Pump Association sponsored by Niagara Mohawk. Over the last 38 years Dave has attended many residential and Commercial, boiler, furnaces, rooftop unit, ductless mini split, VRF, and Factory training seminars

Before his employment with NYSWDA he was a service manager for 19 years, mentoring younger colleagues. Since 1998 Dave has been involved with the annual NY SKILLS USA as a judge in the HVAC program.
